N2 corrupt palette (PCX import)

by Kevi » Sun, 14 Sep 1997 04:00:00

Tried to design new cars in PSP 4.12.  I loaded the proper palette file (I
downloaded from a site) before saving to a .pcx file.   I still get a
'corrupt palette' error when trying to import into N2.  Any ideas,
anyone???

thanks in advance

Deal is, you have to apply the palette .pcx to the all the graphics
you want to import EXCEPT the .pcx of the car.. For example, you have
t_player.pcx, which is the outline of the car.. Then you have
marlboro.jpg, which would be a .jpg of a Marlboro emblem.. What you'll
want to do is...
1. Open t_player.pcx
2. Open marlboro.jpg
3. Apply N2 palette to marlboro.jpg ONLY
4. Resize, cut, etc any graphics you want on the car
5. Save t_player.pcx
6. Import t_player.pcx into N2 with the Paint Kit..
JUST DON'T APPLY THE PALETTE TO THE CAR YOU WANT TO IMPORT, JUST THE
GRAPHICS BEFORE YOU PUT THEM ON THE CAR!! (Sorry about the caps..)
If this doesn't help you, mail me for a more exact "walk-through..."

Correct, but if you already applied the palette to your finnished car
and don`t want to do it all over again, just cut out the car from your
.pcx and paste it onto a untouched .pcx and save as it is, but do not
get anything outside of the white border (I think it`s the pink border
that screws up the palette)

Beers and cheers

Mike:

Go to this site and get a simple N2-PSP Paintkit Guide--it will
walk you through the steps with pictures.
