I bought a Logitech Formula wheel from them and it was fine. I wonder how
the MOMO wheel is?

It says "factory re-certified".  If I'm not mistaken that means it is a
part that was returned under warranty and they either repaired it or
were unable to find a problem with it, so they are re-selling it.
That's not necessarily a bad thing, but I just wanted to point that out
to any prospective buyers.  Caveat emptor.

Will this wheel work with a PS2?

Yes, and refurbished equipment usually has a much shorter warranty than new
product.

I had a refurbished LWFF from Justdeals.  It was rock solid for two years.
Then I thought I could "IMPROVE" it...now it's in pieces in a box.   I think
refurbished also means you get somebody who checks out a piece rather than
running it through an assembly line at Warp speeds.   Still, be sure of any
warranty policy before you make a purchase.

I've heard a theory that a re-manufactured item is often better than the
original.  The original is simply stamped out by an assembly line.  The
re-manufactured is worked on by a factory technician who replaces the bad parts
and makes SURE everything works.  It made sense to me when I heard it...

That one has a 30-day warranty.  Just a blink on the eye of God, but a third
of the way to eternity for a computer part.  (Just a little theosophy,
there.)

Agreed Eldred. Over the years I've purchased many refurbished products at
significantly lower than new prices and and have never been let down. I'll
be grabbing one of those Momo's. Hat's off to ChrisG27 for the head's up.

My only concern is what if it breaks 6 months from now. Isnt logitech the
company that does not carry parts? I mean you are just out of luck? What do
you guys think? Just deals chargers $8.95 for shipping so this is basically
$100. I have thought about it. I am torn between paying this much or paying
$50 more at newegg and getting a one year warranty. If I could have it
repaired or find parts for it that would be different. I do not know if it
is possible or not.

I ordered from buy.com but i canceled my order once i realized it was a
refurbished one. They want a lot for shipping. The total cost ends up being
108 and they have the new ones for 156 free shipping.

I was just thinking...

Companies usually don't enlist resellers the size of Buy.Com unless they
have a LOT of pallett's to move...

Why are there so many refurb Momo's ?

Hmmm...

Tim Mise

MOMO Wheel $89.95

by Tim Mise » Wed, 03 Jul 2002 05:53:22

Thought I'd chime in about my dealings with Justdeals.com.  In the last
year, I've placed about $1000 worth of orders with justdeals.com for mostly
refurbished Logitech keyboards and mouses but a bit of everything including
speakers and joysticks, pc cameras, etc.  (Shipping at justdeals was $8.95
plus $1 for each additional item so it was better to order in large
quanitities so all of us in my office pool together to place a single large
order.  Anyway, to get to my point, out of the approx 100 refurbished items
I and my colleagues have ordered, we have had 1 cordless  mouse that was DOA
and justdeals replaced it after sending it back to them.  The products are
usually not in their original packaging but do usually come with their
manuals and I have never seen any scratches or signs of use from them.  Most
of our orders were placed last winter and so far, they all still work.
