I though I'd just do a little oversteer flick through those parts, ( he says
fooling nobody :-) I'm not saying it'd be easy, or even F1 realistic, just
fun to do.
skill and patience is WAY out of my league at present. Maybe V2 of the

Lakeside in an F1 ? Would you ever get up to 4th gear ? :-)
Yes the current version of the editor feels a bit awkward but I'm very
impressed by the work Paul has put into it neither the less. At the moment
one can only modify existing tracks and this is certainly a bit limiting.
Given this limitation I think that the process is kind of ...
1) Pick an existing track that has the pits on the same side as the track
you're trying to model.
2) Pick a track that has a sufficient number of track sections to cover all
the new works' layout situations.
3) You may even have to pick an existing track that has the right number of
straights and bends, in the correct sequence even, which you then modify as
required.
I've tried a couple of experiments on my system but some things just don't
seem to work out ATM. Maybe its just my system, which I admit is largely
made up of bargain ba***t bits and pieces. But maybe the editor is not
fully
operational yet. In any case the editor is a great piece of work for a
private freeware effort.
BTW, I should get my long awaited for pure 3D soon, in the next few days
perhaps, ( unless the store say its delayed yet again ), so if you're still
right to drop around we can check out F1RS -( if Kerion hasn't sold it in
the meantime :-)
