But you don't bob up and down - the car (cockpit) does but the viewpoint
remains fairly fixed which simulates the fact that your eyes remain focused.
That's one of the things I like most about LFS/F1C/GTR and the thing I miss
most when I'm playing N2003.  I used to think the bumps were overdone in the
demo but then I tried some of the setups that the aliens use and suddenly
the track got a whole lot smoother.

My point (badly put I know) was that if you physically bob up and down as if
a car was jiggling on bumps that you eyes compensate. Therefore the effect
of bobbing portrayed by GTR feels wrong (to me anyway) as when in a car the
car remains relatively fixed to you whilst the world outside moves around
but your eyes compensate.

Hence seeing things bobbling around seem a bit wrong.

Here's an experiment.  At your PC desk, start bobbing up and down....Notice
how things in the distance don't really appear to be moving, yet things that
are close to you are moving noticeably.

By the way, I turn off all of the things like g-force simulation and world
movement in the GTR demo since they seem like a bit of a gimmick to me.

Same here.  One thing I found to help that in fps is to increase the details
so that the frame rate comes down, but thats not a good idea for a driving
game.

I dont even notice it anymore.  Head movement really contributes to the
immersion factor and it also gives me great feedback on what the car is
doing.  Going back to NR2003 is now a very sterile experience.

Low Framerate isnt really an acceptable option IMO.

One word..  Dramamine :)
