Which would raise another question - why can't you hear crowd noises in any
F1 sim? If the drivers say they can hear it, then it should be in - but
nobody has claimed about that so far...

I will have to disagree with you here.

OK, there is some matter in space, but the amounts are so minute in
comparison to the atmosphere say, they is no way the human ear would be able
to detect sound because of inteections with them.

Thats why 2001 is a 'quiet' movie, in comparison to something like Star
Wars. Arthur C Clarke went for realism, whereas Lucus went for 'atmosphere'.

Both have their merits.

>No, I disagree, because outer space is actually full of various molecules,

Sound requires a medium to propagate, and a few (or few dozen or few
hundred) molecules and atoms per cubic centimetre is not a medium in any
acoustic sense of the word. In other words, in space no one can hear you
scream. Nevertheless, shock waves can propagate in the interstellar medium,
particularly following *** events like supernovae, as was observed in
1987 in the Large Magellanic Cloud (a small, neighbouring galaxy). Also, if
you're inside a spaceship which is hit by some uber-weapon, you'll
definitely hear that when it hits! :)

I don't have time to be looking in my mirrors continually.

I told you why it is needed. We are not in a real F1 car. Some
concessions have to be made. Every sim on the planet except for the GP
series has other car sounds. If you had a choice are you saying you
would rather have no other car sounds? Me thinks not.

When they are on your ass.

What? Read the book first then rent the movie. You'll understand it

Actually the sound of the cars going by on the track whilst you are in
the pits is only there for effect.  The other cars are not actually
passing the pits when you hear those engine sounds. :(

No person's opinions can be said to be
more correct than another's, because each is

So why can you still only hear one car from the tv views with the whole
field streaming past in silience?  And why does it say on the official GP3
site "industry leading audio including 3d sound".  3d sound it definitely is
not.

There have been many reports over the years, from drivers racing in the wet,
and how they only know when to brake by listening to the car ahead. The
rooster tails and mist thrown up from cars ahead make vision almost
impossible sometimes.

>>Why?

>>If someone is making a passing manouvre on your car, you should know from

>I don't have time to be looking in my mirrors continually.

I think there should be sounds too, but I don't agree with your argument.  Even
if you had a 21" monitor, the mirror can't be THAT far from the track(racing
line) you're looking at.  You can't see it in your peripheral vision?  Sounds
like you have tunnel vision...
