GPL - Modem Play Won't Go

Anybody have an answer???  Dialup between 2 Sportster 56K V.90
results in answer but almost immediate drop of call.
Have tried all the 'known' issues, ir. no error correct, poll interupt, Fifo
buffers to minimum and even tried various S register changes on modems
directly. Only once in many attempts did we get a start but lost/dropped
connection after a few mins.
No problems with Toca or Nascar, so must be an issue with GPL.
Any suggestions???  Thanks

I had the same problem.  If both of you create a file called core.ini in
your primary GPL directory ex: C:\Sierra\GPL\core.ini then add this line
to the file:

[ Communications ]
assumedModemConnectSpeed = 21600

You should be able to connect.  You both need to have the same exact
number in there.  If it works at 21600 you could try faster, but my
friend and I notice no prblems with that speed.

I was hoping this would fix me up as well ... but nos such luck. I've tried it
a few times now (as well as everything else I can think of) and I just can't
get the two computers connect via GPL. Anyore tips/hints/solutions out there?
