If you've used this tool what do u think of being able to set the
springs and bars to 300+?

Does anyone consider it cheating?

I am just curious as to the genral consensus

Not really, I bet it was not beyond the reach of the GP teams of the time to
have custom parts made. Whether you'd want to use 300+ springs and bars is
another matter.<g>

There's also the challenge of running on ovals, some of which are undrivable
or require excessive ride height because of suspension bottoming problems
using the standard set of springs in the game.

Bars were ALL custom made by the teams at the time, and springs were
available off the shelf in just about any rate you can imagine. F1 cars
weren't the only ones in the world. Jeeps and breadvans used coil springs
too.
