GPL Race Engineer!

I have been having a problem with GPL race engineer since I installed it under WinXP.

everytime I Start it I get errors
everytime I load a setup I get errors
everytime I save a setup I get errors.

the error I get is

"parseTrackIni : 52 Bad file name or number at e:\seirra\gpl\tracks\<none>\track.ini"

this happens twice each time I load a setup. but the setup loads and saves infact the only thing wrong is that error!
there maybe something else that is causeing errors to but I have seen them or found them!

I guess it has something to do with the way it see Xp folders & files names..

Help would be good it works but is bugging me!

It might be that GRE is using some windows API to read the
67season.ini. Those API's differs between the windows versions and is
a nightmare to use. In this case there isn't much you can do.

It could also be that 67season.ini has been changed by some other
utility (for example a track manager), and this utility has changed
the look of 67season.ini and after that GRE can't read it. Examine
67season.ini with for example Notepad and compare against the
67season.ini file from the CD. If you spot differences, such as where
there is a space or not,  in the format it probably is this.

Many utilities unfortunately changes the format of the ini-files
slightly. While tested with GPL it can cause problems in other
utilities which expects them to follow "GPL-standard".

Cheers,

/Martin

If you find out, let me know, it drives me crazy as well.  Just following on to what Martin said.  It will still do it with just GPL loaded and GPL Engineer installed.

<snip>

A right pain it is too for those of us who write programs that access
the .inis - even an extra blank line can throw things out of kilter,
and it can take ages to work out what's caused the error.

... and you're sure it's not the way \seirra\  is misspelled?
