GP2 Setups

I know this is old-hat stuff for most of you but since I've only had
GP2 for a few months please indulge me.  How the heck do you download
setups?  In n2 and IRC2 after unzipping the files I just use Windows
Explorer and drop the setup file in the Track folder.  In GP2 I can't
find a track folder other than in  Gamejams folders and these have no
csp files that I found.  Thanks.

They appear in you game saves folder.

Any files (Setups) that you download must reside in this folder.

Hmm, I think you'll have to create a csp-file before you can find one.
Whenever you download a setup, place it in the gpsaves directory. Then, in
the game, simply load the setup. Make sure that the build-in explorer points
to the right directory. I may be wrong, but that's the way I remember it.

   Hi,

You should have a directory called 'GPSAVES' under you main GP2
directory, stow them in there......most set-ups sent over the www are
'zipped', so you will have to normally unzip, then install.  You could
make a seperate directory if you wish, GP2 will allow you to load up a
set-up from any directory.  (normally while in practice or qualifying
mode, then select 'setup' while in pit lane).  Most GP2 sites have
set-ups, but Eric Cotes has some goodies, but its best if you can work
your own out.  Plenty of articles explaining how.

Well, GP2 is still the best F1 race sim as far as I am concerned,
graphics may not be circa 98/3DFX, but the racing model/feel is superb.
If/when GP3, it should blow everything away.

If you want some extreme fun and a really excellant driving
model/graphics.....try:-
MTM2,  its the hollicks......you won't be sorry.

Place your car setups, hotlaps, saved game files, etc, in your
gp2/gpsaves directory. Or you *can* actually put them *anywhere* and
point gp2 at the appropriate directory when it looks for a particular
file, as you *can* choose which directory to look into whilst in gp2's
menu screens. It just looks in gp2/gpsaves by default.
