TNT 2 GPL Problem, not mirrors

Hi
I installed a new driver from Nvidia (not sure what version but the highest
V #'s in the display properties are 4.12.01.0530 - mean anything?!) and now
when in any res higher than 640 * 480 the screen doesnt display the whole
image.  In the top let quater is part of what I should be seeing, and the
rest is a weird green colour.  Any ideas on fix's?
Also, my framerate isnt real hot - about 15-20 FPS in car with all details
and no tweeks.  The card is a TNT 2 32 MB (not an m64 or ultra), 192 meg
(although the framerate was the exact same with only 64), dual C 400.  It
takes a while to load too, especially the sierra sports screen - waits there
ages.
Thanks for any tips
Pete

Yes it's typical problem. Install the fastest and best drivers and these ARE
NOT always the lastest, in fact the latest are ever the best. Try older ones
or the fastest - fachman 1.2 drivers - you can downolad it from
http://kaktus.punkt.pl or www.pc.com.pl

Yes, get the D3D patch. Otherwise find the old NVopengl.dll driver
file and substitute that for the new NVopengl.dll file that you are
now using. That's what I did after having the exact same problem and
it got it working again. You can use the new drivers except for the
openGL one basically.

eg; all my drivers are 5.13 v except the NVopengl.dll which is 3.68
still.

Hope that helps.

Hi Stan

1) The 4.12.01.0530 means driver version 5.30. I think this is the
latest, but I'm not sure.

2) I had the same problems with my GeForce 256 (Asus V6600) and the
5.16 drivers in OpenGL mode. With the D3DPatch, the game even crashed
to the desktop immediately when entering the car (no problems in the
menues). Now I'm back to version 3.84/3.90 and it works fine.

Good luck and much grip!
Werner

Stan,
the D3D driver is pretty awesome, forget about the opengl. Frame rates with
D3D are far superior.
