NHRA: don't understang graphic config

I just could not resist buying this game. People kept trashing it. Some
people seemed to like it (a few anyways). Well, I don't know about you guys,
but I don't know how the graphic setup works... According to the help text,
High texture is supposed to with an 8 meg video card. AGP is supposed to
work with AGP cards... What happens when you have an 8 meg AGP card (Diamond
Stealth II G460 (i740 chip))? In AGP mode, the cars are there, but they're
all white (no sponsors on them) and the track doesn't look right... At high
texture, I'm unable to see the "meters" and the smoke is one blokky opaque
blob... What gives??? The max setting I can put is medium texture. It's not
perfect. What about my Monster 3D II (12 meg of ram)? The game doesn't even
use it...

Also, is there a way to slow down the computer cars? Are they using super
glue or what?

Sound is better (louder) than Burnout. Good feeling of speed. But I think
I'm gonna stick with Burnout. Until maybe a patch?

I'm not sure what to tell about your monster II. I'm playing NHRA on an
overcloked pentium 133 (150- 75mhz x 2) with 32meg ram and a monster 1. The
game plays great! The graphics in low rez mode look as good as the screen
shots. I ran a 4.49 at Indy last night at 318 mph. I went out and bought a
Microsoft Sidewinder gamepad, and programmed the buttons to match the
keyboard strokes. I think the gameplay is MUCH better than burnout. It just
feels and looks right. The physics are way better........
