I had to install DirectX 5.2 (off of my new Motocross Madness CD), since
NHRA already thought DX5 was good enough. After DX5.2 was installed, it did
help quite a bit. Now instead of waiting around 45 seconds to load up, it's
about 18 which is much more tolerable. It is a lot of fun. However, I
don't like the fact that in the replay mode, there are no frame advace keys,
or stuff like that. When the race ends the cars zip back to the start. In
this aspect Burnout is much better. Plus the TV cameras aren't automatic.
You must manually select each one as the cars scream down the track.
Burnout does this all for you (much better/easier). Also the wheel spin
isn't right. Watch a car from TV view, and it doesn't roll correctly at
all. I hope this get's fixed in a patch (among these other things).
These are my gripes, other than that it's great! Very fun with
excellent sound. Will there ever be more cars or a car editor (like a
paintkit?)
Thanks
