How do i go about playing a NASCAR multiplayer game? Is there an addon i
should get. I am at Belfast, Northern Ireland so a phone call across the
atlantic would not be viable. All my friends play multi-quake but i dont
care much for quake.

If you can afford the $13 a month, the best way is thru TEN (though it's
been flaky lately).

Tons of races, and attitudes, to deal with :)

You can also run up to 24 cars in a race.

I got Hawaii off theuspits.com but it says "invalid zip file" at startup.
Help!

Here was the original idea - Quakeheads get Quakeworld, they type the
address of the server and then they log into the game and it's free.
Anything like that?

Hawaii was an old beta program to be used with N1. It was used to set the
groundwork to develop what is now Nascar Racing on TEN ( Total Entertainment
Network) using Nascar Racing 2.
Read about it at www.ten.net, or www.nros.com
The Hawaii files will not do you any good today, as that system is shut
down.

Hi Pete, heard your desperate call.  You can't play multiplayer Nascar like
you can Quake.  Nascar doesn't have the code to allow you to connect using
TCP/IP and just punch in a server address, I think it's a bit too old for
that.  There are no add-ons that will allow you to do so.  The only way you
can play multiplayer on-line is via a service like Kali, Kahn, or NROS.
These services emulate a great big LAN.  From all I've heard, if you want
anything close to clean, warp-free racing, NROS is the only answer.  The
kicker is that there are monthly fees.  You should visit their website (I
don't have the URL handy) and take a look.  In my experience, the most fun is
to get as many of your friends together as you can in one room and duke it
out via LAN, it's a howl.  Lot's of luck.

Not that Im biased, but the NROS (btw it's at http://www.racesimcentral.net/;)  is
quite a good increase over the "others" and worth what you pay  (only 13$
per month, that's less than 50 per day).  You get the official Nascar
sanctioned series, statistics, about 100user-created leagues, from 50people
(morning) to over 600+ (night) people to race with, a customizable GUi (with
a profile, page, whispers, kill-files, etc..).

But the principal point is that your actually able to race with 24cars on
the track at the same time with almost no warp and latency, compared to the
2-3 on the "other" systems.  And did I said you have the Nascar 14th
division there ? :)

Im not saying the system is perfect, but it's far ahead the best structured
online racing system available at the moment.
