Problems with WIn98 and Thrustmaster ACM Card

The Sidewinder drivers are the problem. Remove the Sidewinder driver
when you want to use the T2, and Add its driver. Versa vice to switch
back to the Sidewinder.

I can't imagine why MS allowed their stuff to be so intrusive. I have a
ForceFeedback Pro that gets very little use because of the driver
problems. My favorite race setup now is an UltraRacer PC and CH pedals.
Its wheel is much more precise around center than the T2 ever was, but
my thumb gets cramped if I get too stressed. Maybe their FF wheel will
solve my dilemma, but I'm disappointed that it doesn't use the USB port.

Michael.

Problems with WIn98 and Thrustmaster ACM Card

I just checked www.papy.com and www.sierrasports.com and you're right..
still no mention of it.
I know that "Joystick" magazine was the company that was "releasing" the
Monza demo on their October issue CD.. but you'd think Sierra would put it
on their site too..

Went to their own "Motorsports" forum...
Found a COUPLE of messages about GPL (old ones too!)
Nada about Monza..

...just a couple hundred Nascar 2 messages. :o((

I'm getting the impression that they don't really care about the game or US,
for that matter. Like when was the last time they did a "proper" update of
the GPL page?? (The Sierra interaction preview still says "Early Spring" -
that's what it said this time LAST YEAR..   (I know.. I've been waiting for
the sim for TWO ENTIRE YEARS NOW!!)

Looks like GPL will only be bought and appreciated by us die-hards (we've
being going nuts about the game (sim! -sorry!) for a long time now. The
"casual" buyer will probably pass it up, due to the poor marketing of the
product.
... And Nascar 3 is only a few months away!! (ooohhh...). I'll probably buy
that (ah, maybe I'll d/l it off a warez group!), but most casual gamers
won't.. they'll save their money for Nascar 3.

Am really disappointed in Papyrus and SierraSports. This is going to be one
fantastic (revoluntionary) product, and they're doing diddley-squat to
promote it.

Monza is beautiful, people.  Well done, and it makes me even MORE hungry for
the finished product.

I can't help wondering, though, why you didn't use the opportunity to salute
the folks in this newsgroup!  You know, we're arguably your biggest fans (or,
at least, the biggest concentration of your fans).  We would have been kissing
you guys on the virtual lips if you'd simply put Monza up on your Web site and
let us know here.  What an opportunity to say "thanks" and "hold on just a
little bit longer"!

Okay, that's my pout for the day.  If I had to choose between marketing acumen
and passion for accurate simulation, I'd choose the latter.  Back to Monza.
I'll still buy GPL the MOMENT it hits the shelves.

Regards,

Kurt

You just gave me a SODA flashback.

Like I've said before:

"DITTO"

I'll be pitching my tent outside my local "Electronics Boutique", ready for
the shipment of games from Sierra.

Visit my website for more GPL release date updates!!

I read today that GPL was one of the highlights at ECTS (European Computer Trade
Show) just finishing. As a result of this it got a lot of newpaper column inches
in the UK. I don't think it's been badly publicised. Most people outside ras
don't watch the Papy site for news.
