Microsoft FF Wheel & Thrustmaster ACM Card?

by Steven Web » Tue, 24 Nov 1998 04:00:00

Hi,

I am considering purchasing a ms ff wheel, Having read a recent review of
the wheel, i have a question
can i use my acm card or do i have to plug into my sound card joystick port?
, the review mentions that the wheel works from pulsed midi signals, and
obviously the acm card cannot do this.

anybody know?

Thanks

You have to plug it into your sound card.

Microsoft FF Wheel & Thrustmaster ACM Card?

Hey Steven,

I recently purchased the Microsoft Sidewinder FF Pro joystick (not the wheel).
I also wanted to use a non-midi compatible adapter (Joystick switchbox).  It
would not give me FF without an adapter from Microsoft.  Call Microsoft Tech
support and they will send you one for free.  The adapter has a cable that plugs
into the serial port of your motherboard and uses that to get the midi signals.
The FF works great now and I do not have mine plugged into the soundcard.  Hope
this helps.  It supposedly works with the ACM card as well.

To quote Johnny Carson, "I did not know that."

Thanks,

How is it in DOS? Like in say, Nascar2? Good info though, I think
I'll give MS a call.
