Banshee or TNT for GPL?

Banshee or TNT for GPL?

I'm looking for a one card 2d/3d solution and will mainly play race
simulations like GPL, GP3 ( call me crazy but I still belive it will come
out in this millenium ), .. Which card will give me better fps in GPL?
Anyone tried TNT with 2nd beta OpenGL with mirrors disabled ( I won't need
them for about a year ( I will keep on training until I'm good enough to
challenge for the championship ), I guess nVidia will correct that problem
in their OpenGL drivers in about a year.

10x,

Borut.

Oh, I have AMD K6-2 300, so 3D-Now support is important!

Forget 3D-Now (the mfr's will ;-) and get the Banshee.... GPL is
a 3dfx game.

if you have AGP- a Banshee is a really, really poor choice. TNT is the way to
go there. If you really must have Glide support, pick up a Voodoo2- you'll
find the cheapest and little past $100, these days.

When the question is about GPL and graphics cards then the TNT is out. I
tried it over the weekend (thanks to a friend who bought a Graphics Blaster
Riva TNT) and there was no improvment over the ATI Rage Pro I have now. So
it's a 3dfx card that suits GPL best.

er... with the Opengl (still in beta?) support, or software mode? :)

What i'm saying is that a Banshee is a poor choice of primary video card. It
doesn't support 32bit 3D, and with (the now weary, poor image quality of
3Dfx).

Spring for a TNT for your agp slot, and grab a cheap V2.  The Banshee is throw
away material in way less than 6 months, and at least if you have the V2, you
can continue to use glide stuff with whatever primiary card you want. Banshee
limits your choice.

Check the orig post, Zonk... one card soluttion, Glide... but I
do agree, a TNT with a V2 (or two ;-) next to it is the best
_two_ card solution.

Stefano, the Voodoo2 should be a bit faster.
