<<Hey there! I've been having some problems with my new PCI Diamond
Stealth64. The darn drivers don't work in Protected Mode. Therefore,
IndyCar, Indycar II, NASCAR, NFS, Doom, ect. don't work. Now before I ask
for a refund on my $500 video card, I was wondering if anyone out there
had a driver that worked?>>
What OS are you using? If you are using Windows95, then the proper
driver for your card isn't loaded when you install the card. You must get
the driver off the installation CD. Look for the drivers on the CD...
you'll find "Diamond Stealth 64 Video VRAM PCI." This is the driver I'm
using.
The drivers provided with the card need to be installed so you can
play games in DOS mode... not Win95's "DOS emulation," but in actual
MS-DOS. This way, you can run Go95 and make sure your refresh rates, etc.,
are correct depending on your monitor. I had to choose customized settings
since my monitor wan't supported. Make sure that your 640x480 resolution
refresh rates are proper, especailly where NFS, NASCAR and IndyCar racing
are concerned (especially if you play NASCAR and Indycar in high res). I
rarely need to exit to DOS to play a game, except for NFS. The rest I play
just fine from Win95.
