Not saying that it was a constant 14 though.....but as we started racing 14
were on the grid.
The race ended with 9...
To me thats a definite BIG improvement

As long as your pings are below 200 it seems like it's fine. I ran
with a few people who were getting horrible lag and warping all over
the place, yet a friend from Sweden on a dialup wasn't lagged to me at
all. Hopefully there will be an option in the dedicated server patch
to limit entries based on latency.
The only bad part of the multi is that it still pauses when people
join, but I believe you can lock the server during quali and the race
so it's not a big deal.
Jason
Apparently that's caused by the server having to load in the textures for
that clients car. If the server runs with minimum detail and has a very
fast hard disk, the pause is barely noticeable. If/when the dedicated
server patch comes along, this 'problem' should disappear.
Anybody hosted one on a T1 line yet? I'm curious... :-)

Well see that is good, cuz the 16 car limit was really a fantasy. So
the fact you could exceed that up to 22 is good. Most F1 2k2 sessions I
joined or saw were 8 or less.

For some unknown reason, the F1C box (at least in the states) still
says "multiplayer supports up to 7 drivers".
Jason
It says 8 in the UK IIRC, which is equally odd.
