Hawaii Car Setups

Can some one please send me a good car setup for the track at Talladega?
PLEASE!  I just got the game, and am using the default "Ace" setup because
I can't figure out anything faster myself.  I called Hawaii and came in
last in all five of my races -- I got lapped in 5% races!  Everyone else
was running laps from 198-196, and my best lap was a 192.  I am in
desperate need of a good setup so that I can be at least remotely
competitive and have some fun.  Will someone please give a newcomer a
helping hand?  Thanks!

So race somewhere beside Talladega!

That probably won't dissuade you, so I suggest you start looking around the
web for setups. I think the setup I use for Talladega is loosely based on
Joe Farr's setup. Talladega is the one track where regular NASCAR setups
seem to work just fine on Hawaii.

Arrrgggh! I've got two league races at Talladega on Thursday. Please excuse
me, I gotta go find a brick for my gas pedal.

Good idea, Dave.   I think the secret to fast laps (at Tally) is to make
sure your throttle is really wide open.   So toss out the analog
throttle, and assign the throttle to a button, and put the brick on the
button.  :-)
That way, you're assured of 100% throttle, where the pedal might be
setup for only 98%...It's not that hard to have your setup "off" by a
couple of numbers.

Of course, your original idea of running on a different track appeals to
me much more..... but sometimes the league DOES run there.

I wonder if that's what happened to me last night. I qualified about a half
mph off my normal speed in both races and I'm certain that in the second
race, my lap was the smoothest line I've run there.

"Last night was not a good night for Sequoia Motorsports, Ned. We got
collected in accidents that were none of our doing in both races. Then in
the second race, during a caution lap, a stopped car suddenly warped in 2
car lengths in front of us when we were going 90 mph, ending our day. You
know how certain drivers always seem to have bad luck at certain tracks...
well, I hate that track! But we'll get 'em next week!" <g>
