Updates for F1 2002?

by doug.drods.. » Wed, 31 Mar 2004 17:24:38

I used to play GP2 and Monaco GP and each year get the updated car sets and
tracks from various internet sites, to play each GP before watching it on
TV. Neither of these old games still play on my modern rig.

I have F1 2002, is there an enthusiast support base that updates the cars
and tracks, year on year, for this game? If not, which F1 game is supported
in this way?

F1 2002 was well supported in it's day (to a certain extent, it still is
some what supported). These days, the focus is on F1 Challenge 99-02. Lot's
of mods have been released for F1C, with several more in the works. Plus,
lot's of track updates, new tracks, and updates to the F1 cars have been
released.

This site has a list of all the mods that have been released, and a list of
ones that are in the works.

Here, you'll find updates for the F1 cars (very impressive work), for both
F1 2002 and F1C.

Here are a few more sites.

Thanks m8, looks like a change to F1C is required. :)

I would have long ago (drool) but my practical download limit from sunny
South Africa via a 56k modem is about 10MB on a very good day. :(

We can but dream..... :)

Use a download manager like GetRight or FreshDownload (I use this one, and
it's freeware). It'll let you resume the download. It'll take you some days
to get it all, but it's worth it.

FreshDownload can be found here...
