Act Labs 4 Speed Shifter Plate

by Phil Le » Tue, 13 Jun 2000 04:00:00

I've just got a quote from ACT Labs to ship a 4 speed shifter plate to the
UK.  For a $5.99 item they want me to pay $24 and yet to ship within North
America is free of charge.  I can't believe a company can possible justify
charging such an extortionate amount for shipping such a small item.  This
is the reason why I didn't buy direct from them in the first place.

I would really appreciate it if someone from North America could help me out
and get one at the cheaper delivery rate and then post it to me.  I will
gladly reimburse you the cost or send an item from England as a trade.

Cheers

Phil

Act Labs 4 Speed Shifter Plate

by Raymond, ACT LA » Tue, 13 Jun 2000 04:00:00

Hello Phil,

Thank you for the heads up.  I dropped the ball here.  International
(most) orders now have the option of shipping via Post for only $4
USD.

The ACT LABS 4-speed Shifter Plate for the ACT LABS RS Shifter was
originally intended to be a special purchase.  Since demand has been
so positive, however, we may keep it as a permanent addition to our
Racing Systems.  We made the plate more for our customers than for
profit which is why it sells for only $5.99 and includes shipping and
handling in North America.

I have added the option to ship internationally via post now too, but
need to somehow offset the added cost of shipping. I hope you find the
$4 USD shipping much more agreeable than the $24 courrier charge.  (I
agree that $24 is WAY too much.)

Again, I take full blame for forgetting to find a way to include our
iternational customers.  I really do hope that you find this to be a
fair option.

Thank you for the constructive criticism.  If anyone ever has ANY
issues, please give me a ring at 1-800-980-9997, ext 122.

I agree, I almost fell out of my chair when I noticed a post by Raymond in an
earlier thread. That's great customer service if you ask me. And to think I was
considering changing brand away from Act Labs when upgrading to FF

Thanks for the quick response.  It's refreshing to see such a
rapid response to the issue I raised.  I have just come from
your web site where the shipping cost has indeed been updated
and have placed my order.

Cheers

Phil

There ain't no better company out their.  I bought from them and will never buy
from anyone else.  I am very happy with the Force RS and their Technical
Support.
