N4 throttle question

How do I gain total control of my throttle?  For some reason the sim
takes throttle control away from me when it wants regardless of
what I want.  I do not have any of the helps selected.

This will keep me from getting N2002 if it is the same way.

Go into the "Controls" section of your options and turn off all the assists
(throttle, brake, etc)

NR2002 also has these plus a few more. The only "help" most folks use is
auto-clutch.

When you are using keyboard style controls (on/off) the helps will be
activated regardless.  If you are not using buttons or keys for the
throttle, I'm not sure why it's helping you.

He said he had them all turned off.  Read the original message again...

Possibly. I am using a joystick as my input device.
There is no way to work around this? No line to
edit in any INI file?

If you're using the buttons for throttle/brake, the car would be
undriveable without the aids on.  Everytime you hit the brakes, they'd
instantly lock, and everytime you hit the throttle you'd instantly
have uncontrollable wheelspin.

If you're using the stick for throttle/brake then I'd re-calibrate
both in DirectX and in the game to make sure you're getting full
travel.

Hmmmm. Methinks you wouldn't enjoy racing 2002 that much with a joystick. I
got a wheel with N1 and haven't looked back, you don't know what you're
missing...
