Colin McRae: is it my steering wheel or is it realism?

Hi.

Finally got the CMR demo running! Got a question though: I got a
Thrustmaster GP wheel. It looks as if the car doesn't always respond
directly to my movements. And sometimes a little move makes a the car move
more than I thought it would. It feels as if my wheel isn't functioning
well. But it does work well in other games! Does CMR have a very sensitive
wheel setting or is this realism? I can imagine it has something to do with
all the bumps on the road: when your in the air (even for a short time)
turning the wheel won't have effect. But when you do touch the ground again
it certainly will. I have to say after a while it looks rather realistic
(compared to other racing games where you always drive a nice smooth
line...).

Does anybody else have the same experience? Is this realism or is my
steering wheel getting old?

I have  a GP1 wheel and the release version of CMR. I have found no
problem with the sensitivity except if I change the setting in the car

setup menu. If I set it to be high it is very twitchy on the GP1 but
on medium it's ok.

Also as the travel on the GP1 is, I think 180 degrees, instead of 270
for the TM2 (due to the paddles being hard to use if the wheel is
turned too far) the GP1 IS more sensitive to these things.
