okies im in the market for a quality/value steering wheel for about 200
dollars
i think that means that a decent force feedback wheel is out of the question
so any recommendations on what wheel i should get

Also is force feedback advantageous in GPL and other sims?, like does it
give u a better idea of an impending skid or what... btw i dont give a toss
about "force feedback enhancing realism.. cos i dont believ it does :) so im
only interested in force feedback if it helps in game control

They're cheap as dirt in the US now. At about $100 from www.buy.com ,
it's only 20-30 dollars more than a non-FF wheel from Thrustmaster.

I've never used a Thomas, and I'm sure it's nice, but I love having
force feedback. Gimmick or not, it makes the games/sims a lot more
fun.

If you don't think FF enhances realism then give CMR a good  run with one.
