I aint supprised either. Get arrid of it. Amd and CYRIX chips are both real
486 chips. Don't listen to the other liers out there. But the speeds on
those 486 chip are like 363 mhz for a tru 133cyrix. get a pentium

His point was that they ARE 486s, just very, very fast 486s...

Make sure you have disabled anything that "fools" your computer into
thinking it's got a Pentium inside, because it doesn't.

I had a similar prob' with my 233 K6 because I set the wrong voltages
for it. The chip has its correct voltages printed on it, so check that
you have those voltages set correctly on your 'board.

The chip has 2 different voltages on it: in/out an core. I think they
are 2.9v and 3.3v, but I'd check the chip to make sure.  From memory,
I think the 233 uses 3.2v and 3.3v, and I had it set to the other
(K166 and K200) voltages, so it would drop out of ICR2 almost
immediately, and F1GP2 regularly. I also had other annoying
side-effects too, but now that it's set up properly everything is
fine.

The guy mentions he has a k6 and this guy tells him it a 486 chip. Not
hardly.

I appreciate everyone's help, but actually I now think that the problem
lies in my CD Rom player.  I installed DoomII from diskette and it works
fine.  Nascar Racing, from CD Rom fails installation, and consequently,
the startup.  It always gives me:  DOS/4GW Professional Run Error 2001 blah
blah blah.  I assume this is packaged inside of nascar.exe (Which always
fails installation)?
