I used to love GPL but had to play it with a damn joypad... well, i was all
over the place, skidding - couldn't stay in a straight line etc... It was
then I saw a patch to allow keys to contol GPL... knowing of my standard of
driving on GP2 + GP3 with keys I wanted to give it a go but it failed.

Basically, anybody out there willing to send me (to my email address please
rather than the NG) a working patch so that I can use my keys on GPL?

GPL is virtually impossible, at least very very difficult using the
keyboard, best advice is get a wheel or at the very least an analogue
joystick.

IIRC, you can configure the controls to the keyboard in the game options
screens, so no need for patches.

You can only use the numpad and function (F1, F2.... F12) keys in GPL (i.e.
you can't use the "main" portion of your keyboard). The result is massive
hand cramps if you drive for more than an hour a day!

There is a patch somewhere (sorry can't find the URL) that apparently maps
the "GP2" keys for use in GPL, which I think are A,Z,< and >. Not tried it
though.

I got my GPL Rank down to 99 with the keyboard before I finally bought a
wheel 3 months ago :0)

As other people have said, keys and GPL are a daft combination - at the very
least you need to spend 10 on an analogue joystick or you'll never enjoy
the game at its best.
