I am a beginner at this sim since I just purchased it. When I go to any of
the practice sessions or warmup before a race the sound sputters and the car
will not acceleerate past about 40 miles an hour. Acutally it sounds like
there is a rev limiter on the car. Now when I get into the race itself
everything sounds and works great. Any Idea what is causing this.  I use
other sims and everything is fine.  I have the latest drivers for
SoundBlaster live and I even tried turning off the anti virus realtime
protection but that did not help.

Sounds like the rev limiter is on.  Press "L" on the keyboard to turn it
off.

Just a guess here but; you probably have the automatic pit feature on and
while in the pits you are not really in control of your car.  Once you cross
the end of pit lane control reverts to you.

When starting from the garage, the limiter's on by default, because...well,
you're in the pits.
