Sorry I'll disagree with the other poster...CPS is not the best....not
even honorable mention.
For best multiplayer :  Nascar Racing 2 over the TEN network
For best "you are there graphics"  ICR2 Rendition version
BEST Eye Candy, F1RS
Best driving model:  SODA Off Road Racing
Best sim for those without Rendition chips:  GP2
Best sim for those with 3dfx:  F1rs

Most fun:  Monster Truck Madness 2(ok so it's not out yet...sue me!)
Best Total Convesion:  The Pits Touring Car Patch for N2.

Best Demo:  Grand Prix Legends
Best category not yet covered:  Tie:  Pikes Peak Unlimited Hill Climb,
Unlimited Hydro Planes

Dave Henrie
"Fly Paper."  That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

Well as racing sims become even more popular the list seems
to be getting smaller.  But my vote goes for a
World of Outlaws/Sprint car sim.  Then again, We'll all
get a car that is hard to handle and that flips a lot in
GPL! (With GPL/N3 comming it, it looks like it's time
for an upgrade!  (I think I'll wait for the 100MHZ bus
to come out, any ideas when???)

Later,
John

Wow, I think this is the best coverage yet !!!!!!!   Hope you don't mind if
I use this as a reference is anybody ask witch is the best sim (this means
each 1week).

Btw, I want a Carrera Panamerica Simulator !!!!! For those who don't know
what is this... go locate "Carrera Panamerica, a sound experience by Pink
Floyd".   I saw many racing movies, but this documentary has the BEST racing
shots I ever saw.  The BEST be sure !!! And it has some new music by Pink
Floyd. And David Gilmour nearly dies in it.   And it's a very cool race,
2000kms all over Central America, closed and non-closed tracks !!!.

Best AI : The TEN NROS drivers for N2 ;-)

"Cart Precision Racing" from Microsoft, defenately. This simulator gives you
really an experiance of driving at stunning speeds. The only thing is that
you should at least have a nice Pentium 150 or higher and a good 3D-card. A
week ago I downloaded the demo from www.asia.microsoft.com and two days
later I had to buy it. Believe me I own all the racing simulators like GP2,
ICR2, F1RS and there is no such thing like CPR. Sometimes you really get
scared while driving it. Your hartbeat will go up to a 160 bpm and you don't
have to do your run in the city-park, because you'll lose enough weight if
play CPR for only 15 minutes a day (now that's an amaizing discovery isn't
it?).

It's out now. The new mb's with the Intel BX chipset. Most all of the major
PC players have 350Mhz and 400Mhz models running on the 100Mhz bus shipping
right now.

I agree with this as well... CPR is a fair way down as sim... though as a game
there are people who like it a lot. F1RS is probably the best overal sim for
the moment. As far as dividing it into categories then I aree with Dave
Henrie.

Speaking about "stunning speeds", have you noticed that whilst on Milwaukee, for eg,
that no matter what the setup you just can't get over 190 mph. Absolutely stunning! No
doubt about it, CPR was a stunning product and the stunned mullets all over the globe are
living proof :))

My biased vote goes to The Australian V8 Touring Cars, especially including the famous
Bathurst track, and also the CART track on the Gold Coast and the GP track in Melbourne!
Philip Island (used for GP Bikes), etc, etc, etc! To bad there's no Aussie companies good
enough or interested enough to do it :((((

Ahh thoose V8's were (well they still are but i cant watch them anymore:((()
totally awsome on*the* mountain... If i were to have my wishes in future
PAPYRUS sims tho, the list would go something like this...

- Can-Am's.... boy were they awsome!
- LeMans.... would love a full simulator of the 23hr. race with drivers
changes, pitstops, day and nigth etc... all run over the net ofcourse!
- IMSA GTP/WSC: Imagine the 24hrs of Daytona, 12hrs. of Sebring, 6 hrs. at
The Glen etc... Could be done with modern day cars too.. i.e. R&S, Ferrari
333SP, Mazda Kudzy, Courage, etc..
- Historic LeMans sim.:  Imagine driving this race in different ares with
different cars on different track-layouts.... Should feature The Bentley of
the 30's, D-types of the 50's, Ferraris and Fords of the 60's, Porsches of
the 70's and 80's, Group. C's of the 80's and 90's.. Now would'nt that be a
blast!?
- Oz V8's... (again the Mountain is one of my favorite tracks in the world.)
- Super-touring.

etc, etc, etc,

just my 0.2. tho..

I believe the 100 Mz buses were out on April 15.
I had to choose between a P2/333 66 Hz or P2/400 100 Hz :)
I heard that the 3Dfx cards weren't guaranteed too work
with the 100 Mz machines -- who wants to spend $1500 CAD
and not have your cards work?  Not me.

Nascar Racing 2 wins hands down until GPL releases, unless they at Papy do
something really radical that somehow makes it unplayable on all but the top
of the line P2 systems. I use a Voodoo card, and the 3dfx patch made N2 even
better. Nothing against rendition, just don't have one at this time.
