Man, Infogrames should use their Atari license and release a new
version of Roadblasters, with actual circuits/cities to drive around
in and multiplayer support.  That was one of my favorite racers in the
80's, and it would be incredible fun on an enclosed circuit with other
people.

Only one that comes to mind is an older one- ReVolt.  Loads of fun.

Interstate 76.  The best.  I'm serious.  Cool cars, cool soundtrack, cool
style, cool everything :)   The others ones listed in this thread can't beat
it (with the Nitro pack, but NOT Interstate 82 or whatever the poor sequel
was called eh).  Carmageddon is too puerile.

Definitely I'76. Excellent game, great fun online too. Carmageddon2 was
pretty good imo, but I never tried it online.

Ahhhh.
I76 was the REASON i bought a PC..Saw the ad for it in a computer magazine
and started clawing at the page. Oh those late, late night CTF sesions and
lotsa beer.
The EXCUSE to keep upgrading came from the Nas series and GPL a year
later...
Guess thats why i never get sick of watching Mad Max/ The Road Warrior.
There's a little Auto-Vigilante in all of us :)

Interstate '76 would really fit the bill.  Probably hard to find, and
the graphics are pretty dated.  Still the closest to what you asked
for on the PC.  And the single player storyline was great, too.

Interstate '82 was supposedly much worse than the original, sadly.

I couldn't agree more. No one else has nailed vehicular combat the way
they did.

Interstate 76 is on re-release at about 2.99 in HMV in the UK at the
moment.  It's alright when upgraded with the D3D patch, or a better bet is
the first sequel, "NitroRiders".

bit laggy over the internet, but should be spot on for LAN (might be IPX
only though, I'm not sure on that)

cheers

OK, I have the original Interstate '76, but had to deinstall it some time ago
due to severe lack of disk space. Now I'm considering (finally!) getting a
new HD, so I can reinstall it (and some other games too, of course). What would
you suggest, that I just install the patch for I76, or should I go and buy the
I76 Arsenal (I've seen it on sale for $5 at a local store)? I mean, are the
additional missions the thing, or just the 3D patch?
