DMA on my Gateway P75?

by Chuck Gulke » Wed, 18 Dec 1996 04:00:00

I have ordered a new Reactor 3D and plan to upgrade my RAM to 24 meg
tommorrow.  Anxiously awaiting my card with the Rendition version of ICR2.
Already have the new NASCAR2 CD.

Question.  Will my Gateway P75 purchased in May 1995 allow me to run the
faster DMA versions of Indy Car 2 and NASCAR2?  I have no idea what DMA
really is or how to determine if my trusty Gateway will support DMA.

Any help would be greatly appreciated?  Sure are alot of very smart sim
racers/computer experts around here.  Wish I was one of them.

It should support PCI Bus Mastering, but you may have to update your
MB's BIOS to enable it.  Goto Gateway's webpage and find the most
recent version: http://www.gw2k.com/ftp/16.htm

BTW, with the price of RAM these days, you really should go ahead and
upgrade to 32megs.
