Having only a 486/100, I usually keep the frame rate at 16 and adjust the
graphic details to keep CPU occupancy below 100%.
I have run probably a thousand (yuk!) laps at Monaco with this setting,
hit the kerbs hard lots of times, and NEVER got any damage to the car
because of this.
The other night, I wanted to see if the gameplay would benefit from an
higher frame rate, so I turned off all details and pumped up the frame
rate to 25. In the few laps I ran, I damaged THREE times my front wing
running over a kerb.
Now, once could be just bad luck, twice could be a funny coincidence, but
three times in a row is too much to ignore it. It really looks like the
frame rate affects the likeliness of damaging the car. Anyone can
confirm/deny this?
