From my player.ini file (please don't laugh... been playing for about a
week):

What does this letter mean (T,P or R) ? Has it got somthing to do with
on-line/off-line racing or manual/auto-shiffting ?

R = Race
T = Training
P= Practice

Doh.. I must be a real rocketscientist not to figure out that by
myself.

Anyway - thnx to those of you that replied.

While I'm at it - What about the handicap ranking at GPLRank... What
is that all about ?

There's a FAQ at GPLRank (http://newgplrank.schuerkamp.de/gplrank_faq.html)
which provides more detail, but basically you are comparing your lap times
with the 'official' Papyrus benchmark - the replays of their hot laps for
each track that shipped with GPL. Since you're adding up your best laps for
each track, it's a great incentive to go out and have fun practicing them
all, not to concentrate on just one or two tracks. Or maybe to get
frustrated at them all instead of just a few <grin>.
