Very cool...it's nice to see that the designers have paid attention to
detail to the point of having the suspension at full droop when the car
is in midair (boy, they'd BETTER come out with the Nrburgring -- if you
can't launch off Flugplatz, what's the use of living?). One small nit,
however -- although I can understand that with moving suspension it's
difficult to maintain complex object relationships in computer
animations (note that in the rear view of Clark's 49, the exhaust on one
side goes *under* the suspension links and *over* the links on the other
side), why the devil is Clark wearing Chris Amon's helmet?

Nit nit nit nit nit nit nit nit nit ....

This was the year that Clark forgot his helmet, having left it sitting
on a hay-bale back on his farm in Scotland, and Chris had a spare one
that fitted Jimmy.

The reson that one set of pipes has a different arrangement to the other
is that, at that time (the Type 49 was very, very new) the Lotus
engineers couldn't make their minds up which was the more effective
arrangement, so Chapman ordered them to setup the exhausts differently
on each side.

As you can see, it is possible to find a plausible (?!) explanation for
a lot of this historical stuff where there are so few people left to
contradict the stories :-)

Also...did you notice that the Armco is the wrong way round?
have a look at the two shots that have the wire mesh and you'll see that
the back of the Armco is actually facing towards the trackside!

Papyrus...please note and fix during preparation of the sim! And PLEASE
don't take offence at this observation!!

Flugplatz? Hey, cool! I have always wanted to fly!

Dunno. Maybe he beat 'em up and stole it?

G'day Bart,
No, apart from a bit of rust the Armco appears quite okay.

I'd guess that it was made in China and the Italian workers couldn't
make sense of the Chinese-Italian instructions.  Who could blame them
when you get something like:- "Fettucini commendatore connecto la
Partissimo 'A' via bigga nutta anna bolta ravioli connecto Partissimo
'B' witha mucha gusto"?

I'm sure the Papy engineers will get it reinstalled the right way
'round!
