No....no Playstation or N64 or any console version at all.  You'll have
to go out and spend $2000 on a PC, so start saving! :o)

playstation,n64 and sega's suck big time
no possibilities of changing stuff like paintshemes and bodywork(N2
truckpatch).
Real gamers use PC and only play real sims
To HELL WITH ARCADE RACING GAMES
realism is everything
We dont wanna drive a track within a certain time(or its GAME OVER) we wanna
play against real life opponents on real life tracks and real life racing
conditions

1) the PSX isn't the market that Papyrus focus on

true.

And you know this because...?  Perhaps its that Papyrus doesn't have the
kind of Playstation expertise necessary to create an acceptably fast version
of GPL on the PSX.

I actually wrote " PSX are for "games" not "sims"... but I though it would
lead to Randy to reply to me...

Heck even without 2)  he did it !!! ;-))

Ah ha ! We agree on a point ;-)

Sure they don't have the expertise (since they actually don't care for the
moment about the PSX), but looking at what they did with Nascar1... they
would have to cut in MANY big points to make the transfer. Don't think of
those great graphics.  Naw, maybe 320x200 (that's normal for a PSX).

Heck we are moving from 22hz to 188 for the game engine ONLY.  They had to
let down graphics in Nascar1 to make the game acceptable with a good
framerate.  And it was slow most of the times, I remember that it was at
least <20fps.    Now don't forget EVERYTHING is boosted up. More hz for the
AI, graphics, game engine, crash engine, etc....

I just don't see from the other arcade games (who don't have a very powerful
and complicated game engine like GPL) who has poor framerate with poor
graphics compared to GPL  that Papyrus can transfer the game where we won't
say "Man they really messed it up compare to the PC version, it looks like a
mini version".

Of course with you, Im always wrong...

The PSX has neither the CPU power nor a suitable market to support
GPL. I'm sure GPL could be made to run on a Playstation with suitable
compromises to the physics and AI, but would there be a market to
justify such sweeping modifications, and would the game have lost it's
raison d'etre afterwards?

I think no and yes respectively, without a doubt, although YMMV.

Cheers!
John
