Please Help: Modem question

by RWF0 » Tue, 22 Dec 1998 04:00:00

Can someone please help me.  I've possed this question a couple time but get no
responce.

I'm trying to get my N99 to dial a long distance number.  Every time it dails
the operator comes on (through the modem speaked saying I must dial a 1 first.
I have a one in the number I'm dialing 1-areacode- number.  I even tried
putting it in the string prefix.  Still same problem.  I have a USR Sportster
56K modem.  Non WinModem.  I can dial long distance with other programs.  Any
help appreciated.

Thanks.

put ~~~ in between the one(1) and the rest of the #.  I think that is a
pause function.  Or check
your modem docs for the proper symbol for a delay in the string.  i.e at &f
dt1###800blah blah blah..
maybe that will help.  good luck
