that the percentage that does is pretty low (I got caught once).
Anything over 4% for redeemed rebates is considered high. I though I
had a deal on my GP-1 when I purchased it for $20 after rebates. Now
its nearly free.
Ex
that's also because compu-usa pays out like 2% of the rebates sent in.
i've sent in probably over 20 rebate forms in my time with them.
i've received maybe three checks in the mail.
compusa has a scam going, indeed.

: I think they count on people not turning in the rebate coupon. I've heard
: that the percentage that does is pretty low (I got caught once).

Only because people don't keep track of what they
send in and forget about it. If they didn't send out the
rebates, they would be shut down because of all the
lawsuits.
I've gotten everyone that I've sent in for, except for one
that came back as half as much as I was supposed
to get... still working on that one - but I haven't given
up yet... (it's only been 6 months....)

trust me....you haven't been the victim of the greatest scam in rebate history
from comp usa:
"i'm sorry, this rebate is unavailable at the store YOU bought the product
from."
the ad was at the store, the rebate form was at that store. but their "not
available at all locations" in fine print gives them the perfect excuse to
to not pay out.

: That's your own fault. Every rebate form has, in tiny print,
: a phone number to call if you don't get your rebate in the
: allotted time. Whenever you send in a rebate, keep a
: legible copy of the form so you can call in when they
: don't send it. It never fails that when you call, they'll
: tell you it "went out yesterday". Translation: "We'll send
: it out in about a week since you called." More often than
: not, they'll say something like "our company just moved
: it's office and there's been a lot of confusion" or "we just
: had a big employee turn-over"... It's a load of ***that
: all means the same thing: Tough sh!t for the people who
: never called about their rebates.
