Hello,

In the same PC Gamer issue as the GP3 article that has caused some
controvesial, there was also an article about how serious gamer you was.
It was about if you were part of downloading the Doom-demo in 94,
spectrum games and other retro-stuff. One part of the article was a test
if you was a serious gamer or not, and among completing Half-Life they made
a point of completing a lap in Grand Prix Legends without hitting grass once.
They thought it was impossible :)

LOL!

I never even completed half-life, but I managed to win at Mosport on GPL.
Am I a serious gamer then?

I think the time invested in completing halflife is only a fraction of the
time it takes to master GPL and then win a race at Mosport.
And I'm only talking about invested TIME here, not the money for the wheel,
the voodoo card, the coolers, etc.

Definately, not that I've ever completed half-life, when I came half the way
GPL 1.2 was released and suddenly there was only one game worth it on my
computer :).

The good thing about mentioning GPL is that *** simming is finally
taken as serious ***, not only RPG's and FPS's.

It happened a time or two last year when someone visited my flatmates while
I was working on that below-9-minutes lap at the ring, the ignorant visitor
wanted to try GPL and said that he would smoke me as easy as that because
he felt he was good at *** :)

Yeah, he kind of shut up the rest of the evening after spinning in the
pits at monza :)

I remember when a friend of mine came round to try GPL about a year ago,
he said that within 10 laps he would be quicker than me around Monza. To
be fair, he didn't spin in the pits.... until he moved up from F3 :-)

Sufficed to say, his 1m53 at Monza didn't quite beat my time!

Agreed, I completed Half-Life in 3 days!
No longer playing these games though, apart from UT and Q3 which are
awesome fun.  Specially after days of solely playing GPL.

I finished half life in about 4 days, playing from when I was awake to when
I slept.  Took a long time since I liked to finish each area perfectly.  But
I was blasted on the 5th day.  Now, its N3 for me only.  But I got to try
out the A3D sound card I just got...
