We've posted a sample of the new engine
sound in several different formats for your
listening pleasure.  I hope you like them
as much we do!

Anybody willing to make a N99 soundfile out of this sample?

Shawn,

Great screen shots.  My only question is........ is the patience label for
us or the driver?  Keep up the great work and get that sim out!

The engine noise was great...kinda similar to the
N2 sound patches at the usPits.  by Roberto
Agostoi  (or something like that)
but what I really like was the tire squeal.  Actually
sounds like tires now, not just some made up
noise... Good Job

Better yet, starting a lap from the pits, and make it at Richmond please.
or a lap at watkins Glen so we can hear someone going thru the gears...

Better than they used to be, that's for sure. While it's okay,
it just doesn't seem to convey the ANXIETY that I remember from the
engines I've heard in real life. MUCH better than earlier, tho'.
We're still hoping for some kind of BALLPARK delivery date,
too. Nice to see it's still progressing, and please keep up the work,
but you could take a page from Jane's or the Descent 3 developers and
at least give us periodic updates on its status. I think you'll find
people more patient and tolerant when they're informed.

Any idea on System Requirements yet?  I'm debating doing a minor upgrade or
a severe overhaul, and N3 is on my 'must have' list for the fall.

Thanks,
Mike

Are you sure that wasn't YOUR anxiety?  :0)

As an ARCA racer and and long time WC pit pass holder...I think its about as
authentic as I have heard!  Just my 2 cents...

It sure doesn't look or sound like the 'same game' to me.

You'd certainly know more than I!  8^}  All I get to see in
Portland, Oregon is the Fast Friday night races at the speedway!  BUT
I DID get to watch the Supertrucks qualify at PIR last week!!!! (my
first time SEEING the trucks! Missed the race due to car problems
8^{{{{{{ ).

Mike, guessing from NR99 and what they're likely to with the
graphics you'll probably want at least a P2-350-400 with a V3-2000
oc'd.  64MB'd probably be a minimum, too.
