New Engine Sound for N2

Hey Simmers...

There was a post the other day about a new***pit w/new engine sound
for N2.  Well, will anybody out there with more info on the new engine
sound step forward and tell us sumpin'???  Ever since reading that, I've
been drooling on my steering wheel as I fantasize about how neat it
would be for my N2 car to sound gutsy and powerful like it was a car
from The Team From Hell, instead of sounding like it's part of Team
Wienie. ;-)  IS there a new engine sound for N2????  Com'on sound.dat
genius... step up to the plate!!!

God Bless,

Andre

I downloaded the new engine sound, and installed it with great
expectations. I was sadly let down. It sounds just like the touring cars
that were put out by THE PITS site. The tire squeal is a improvement,
but the engine sound and "stereo crash" sounds are not so good. But is a
step in the right direction. Atleast people are now working towards
improving the sounds in the game.

I sampled a new engine sound on nascar2.com.  Though I appreciate the effort
to improve the sound, I did not particularly like it.  It was very low pitched
and hard to get used to the sound versus speed.  Not much variation when you
hit the gas.  Just my opinion.

I tend to agree with you..... I installed the sound and although the low
rumble is a nice switch, I tend to lose track of the revs at the high end
because it just does not SOUND like the engine is overreving.  I guess I
shift more by what I hear than by watching the tach.  There has to be a way
to get the pitch up there just a bit higher so that it varies more with the
revs the engine is turning.  Otherwise this sound is pretty even throughout
the engine speed range and its very deceptive.

You are correct about the new engine sound. I have just downloaded and
installed it.  I found it on the Yellow Flag's Utilities page.  You can
find several other very useful utilites with instructions for
installation there also.
