N2 Engine Sound Gurus Please Help

by LC » Fri, 19 Sep 1997 04:00:00

Hi all,

I am currently working on a more realistic engine sound for N2 as well.
I have recorded the exhaust sounds (from VERY near) of a V8 stock car in
.wav form.  Trouble is, everything I do results in nothing but a
high-pitched digital whine in N2.  Does anyone know if the original N2
engine sound uses a special format or sampling rate?  Do I need a
specific program to record the sound in the proper format?  Any
knowledge on this subject that could be passed along would be greatly
appreciated, and the final product will be made available for all.

Regards,

LC

I think you must kept the sound file to the correct length as
the original and same format Eg.  8 bit mono or something

The sounds are 8-bit mono at a sampling rate of 5512.  You can use a
program called GoldWave (at www.hotfiles.com) to edit the indvidual
wav files.
