This is a update to the recent arcade add-on I've completed.
Found out 1 very interesting tid bit this weekend that I doubt even Papy
knows.
Have you ever wished that you can run Aracade mode with full qualifying and
practicing like the realsitic mode and not have the AI keep adjusting to your
driving like single player arcade mode does?
Well I fumbled into the solution to this. When you start up Nascar 2, leave
the cd out. Then go into multiplayer and try to connect. You will receive the
screen saying to put the disk in and restart. At this time you go back to the
main menu and either go into quick race or season. At this time you will have
practive and qualifying rounds under arcade mode and the AI will not adjust to
your driving (which is very good that it doesn't IMO).
Now this corrects the one snag I had for the arcade mode add-on. You no longer
need a network card to be able to use it just follow the steps below.
Everybody can use this if with their current system.
At this time you can run an arcade mode season with full practice and
qualifying plus the cars won't adjust. If you use the settings that I have
tweaked, this should give you a very good racing experience.
I do have one minor bummer to report.
Has this happened to you?
When your working on car setups you can actually leave the setup screen and
try out the new setup. When you return to the garage the setup is still there,
even though you didn't save it. Heck you can leave the game and come back in
and that setup is still untouched, even though it was never saved. Well this
is where my problem with version 1.0 comes in. I tweaked the setups on all the
tracks to give you a very forgivable and driveable car. But I didn't save at
least a few of the tracks I've noticed. When I made the zip file I copied the
STG files, but a few of these were old setups, since I never saved'em.
Currently I know that Rockingham and Richmond have fallen to this blunder of
mine. I will correct this ASAP, hopefully tonight and release version 1.1. To
those with 1.0 I'll re-send you the setup files. Sorry.
**To Papy**
I noticed your NRO will allow arcade mode racing. Bristol however is really
really messed up under arcade mode. I'm pretty much convinced that there is no
good setup for this track. Heck there isn't even an ok one. Also if you get a
fast setup the AI cars then bounce off the walls. I'm sure the AI isn't a big
thing for NRO but not being able to get a good setup for arcade mode should
be. The problem occours when your half way in turn 1 or 3. When driving near
the center of the track your car will just loose it the front end will veer
down and the back end will come up on ya. No matter what I do this happens.
Now if somebody has a good setup for arcade mode for Bristol send it my way.
Also is there a chance to get arcade mode handling without the extra horse
power???
