Just retunring to GPL..... Part 2

by Johnny Fiam » Tue, 18 Sep 2001 16:53:11

Thanks to those who responded to my previous post, I now have all the latest
cars and graphics and have been driving all weekend.  A big thank you to the
people who created them, I haven't played GPL in a year and the improvements
are incredible.  The cars are light years ahead of the things I was creating
when the game came out.

My next question is that there now seem to be dozens of tracks out there,
could someone who has some experience of them give a list of 2 or 3 "must
have" tracks (I'm not into ovals and would like something to fit in with the
late 60's).

Many thanks,
JohnnyF

I would say Solitude, Snetterton '67 and Sopheve are the best of the add-on
tracks.

I say
Solitude
Oring
Snetterton

The first two are no-brainers, the 3rd you could replace with imola or
several others.

I like the LeMans add-on.  Great track.  Driving through the Dunlop
section is very fun because you can really slide it through.

Well I gotta say that if you wait a small while Bathurst will be out there
is a tester track out now. I do warn you its got some surprises in it...
dipper and the air over the hills on conrod.

The release version which I might add I'm doing is nearing completion well
I'm hoping to have it out in time for FAI1000.. Anyway hold off till then
and get the track it'll have the track installer and all.

Great track .... Yes I am blowing my own trumpet but the 2000 emails I have
can't all be wrong...

you can Info on this track at http://bathurst.qldgamers.com

Chris, looking forward to this new updated release. How far away is
the track from being a full release? And what does Russell Ingall have
to say about it???

I've spent many hours glued to the telly watching everything from XDs to VNs
and Sierras to Godzillas going round that track.  I'm itching to get the
Lotus running around it myself.

Is the beta public yet?  Last time I looked it said it had nine levels of
enryption or something

Cheers

Apart from Solitude and Imola or O-ring, it must be the new Riverside
(USGP67). A proper F1 track that has it all: very long straights and
difficult esses, fast corners and hairpins, up and downs. Hasn't reached
'classic' status yet, but it should. Try it, it's marvellous.

Bye,
Leo
