GeForce and NFS 4

Hi,

NFS 4 will only run in software mode with my GeForce 256 (SDRAM) in a 667EB. Is there some type of fix for an ini or registry
file? 3D setup does not recognize the card. Thanks.

Have you used the NFS Auto-Patcher to fetch all the updates?
I wouldn't be too surprised if it started to recognize the card
after that.

If you search the newsgroup for NFS you will see the answer.  Here it is again:

Try the following.  If these steps don't work, use 3.62 drivers from NVIDIA.

2.  Boot into Safe Mode and go into Device Manager.  Look for extra Display
adapter listings and delete any that are not Annihilator or GeForce.
Reboot.

3.  Uninstall and reinstall the game.

4.  Run 3dsetup again and force it to D3D.

5.  Right click on the game executable (nfshs.exe) and drag it to the
desktop if you do not have a desktop icon for the game.

6.  Right click on the desktop icon and pick Properties.  Edit the command
line for the desktop icon to add -d3d0 (that's d3dzero) outside the
parentheses, so it looks like this:

 ....nfshs.exe" -d3d0

That should do it.
