Is there a way to run longer races with damage turned off?
Or at least allow car reset?

Are you talking about online or offline? Online is decided by the
server as to whether shift-r is allowed.

Once you select the pro or grand prix races, damage is realistic. But
you can still shift-r

I don't think there's any utilities to alter this either.

For offline, there is SVG editor at the US Pits
(http://www.theuspits.com/owheel/gpl/files/svg-edit101.zip). Only works
after qualifying since it edits saved grid files. So you start the race type
you want, qualify and then start a race which you abort. GPL will ask you if
you want to save the practise results. They go in a file consisting of
<track>.svg in your players dir. This file can then be edited to have the
damage setting at none (plus a lot of other things).

You can change the number of laps in the gpl/seasons/67season.ini file
for the tracks you would like to alter.

Novice is approximately 15% of the race length (number of laps).
Intermediate is approximately 30% of the race length.
Grand Prix is equal to the race length.

So for damaged turned off, you'll need to use the novice setting and
bump up the laps alot :)

FYI, I did find one bug:

One of my 67season.ini tracks had the following data, which made it stop
reading any other tracks under it:

month=7day=21

I changed the line to read:

month=7
day=21

All worked fine after that.

Hmm. I wouldn't call that a b u g exactly... I might be able to improve
the program's resistance to garbled .ini files.
