The MGI team has delivered a patch to Hasbro.  Items covered
include yellow flags and unruly AI behaivor.  No word on how long
Hasbro will take to check out the patch before they release it.

Too late....we'll see if it's also too little.  This is an exaggeration, of
course, but "we" have moved on...

Moved onto what?

A sim that some racetracks are unraceable on?

Cut them some slack, I want my NH patched.

Cheers,
Rod.

Same here. After all the Nascar Heat AI bashing a few months back, it seems
a little(LOT) ironic now N4 has turned up and stunned the sin racing
community with its lack of perfection and AI problems. But still the N4
zealots shout. "it's better than Nascar Heat !".
Me, I play both and love 'em for what they are. Computer games.

Hey, I never expected there would be another patch for NH, I thought
they'd given up on it, good news!!
What's next, the release of GPaL? :)

I like N4, but it really bugs me when I see N4 fans calling NH arcade
and that it looks too cartoonish etc. With a few fixes NH will be a
great *sim* and not an arcade game as some suggest.

What bugs me about NH are the problems are endless
from poor AI, yellow flags, to no engine in the engine compartment, which
lacks realisim when damage occurs, to the games inability to import cars
through the menu
system. It could of been a really good game. I doubt
any patch can address all the problems with this release
only a new version would make the corrections nessary.

Actually, Marc, YOU may have moved on, but there are a bunch of US who
haven't, so the patch is still much-anticipated AND it will be
welcomed when it arrives.

As far as the "moving on" part, you may find that YOU'RE missing out
once the CART Heat and IRL Heat add-ons arrive.  Have fun with N4,
though!

Some people do nothing wrong.
The problem is, they do nothing.
And THAT is wrong.

I have to tell ya tho....I just put it back on...and now that I have a
stout processor, I was able to turn on ALL the graphics for the first
time....STUNNING.  Really.  with 2xfsaa
and every graphic detail maxed, I got 49.7 in the benchmark....I'm pleased
by this
as F1cs2k still bogs down my tbird.(800x600 btw)

Nascar Heat...Patch almost do.....

Assuming the patch ever gets released, I will be one of the first to apply
it.  I still have NH on my system, and if you read posts here you will know
I have been one of the most vocal in pointing out the appalling flaws in the
N4 AI and the less serious problems with damage modelling, etc.  But despite
NH's superior graphics performance (and some would argue looks), it really
does pale in comparison to N4 if you want the full racing
experience...offline and online.  Now if NH had a save game feature, there
would be something to argue about and compare.  But, at least from my seat
on my system, NH is a great effort, but it only beats N4 in one category --
graphics/graphics performance.

The "we" moving on was a reference to the N4 post volume here at r.a.s.  NH
never generated that volume because Hasbro set up their own board and
refused to comment here.  But let's not get on to the topic of Papy's lack
of response here.........!

Marc.

What I really enjoy is its straight forward means of
inporting cars, second only to .ini tinkering for simple
game options and the great AI. ;)

Speak for yourself Marc. "I/We" am eagerly awaiting the patch that will
allow me to finally play a decent nascar sim...haven't seen one since N99 if
ya know what I/we mean...
