WHAT NASCAR RACING 2 NEEDS

Of course, the Nascar Racing release is obviously the greatest game I've
ever played. I've flown planes before, and I've drove in a Nascar liscened
short track race many times, and Nascar Racing is a far better simulation
to racing than Microsoft's Flight Simulator is to flying. (in case if
you're wondering, I drove a SUPER LATE MODEL through the Winston Cup
series out here in Arizona. Its a small licsened Nascar league with great
racers and sponsers). But is Nascar Racing missing something? They've got
races you can play, and Winston Cup seasons you can play, but how about
the Big Races? Perhaps Daytona 500, the Brickyark 400? Perhaps they can
make an add-on or a new game all together. Of course its fun to imagine
you're already in those races, like Goody's 500 on the Bristol track
included. Maybe they could?

Perhaps Daytona 500, the Brickyark 400?
<<<

This comes up again and again.

Sega owns the exclusive license to Daytona, preventing us from releasing a
Daytona track for NASCAR. While we had a license to use Indianapolis for
the original IndyCar Racing, we do not have license to use it for either
NASCAR Racing or IndyCar Racing II. We would if we could...

I realize the rights and all, but I think it's poor taste in NASCAR to
own Daytona Speedway, and license the game but not their track.
Something about "exclusive" just sucks.

Go #6 Mark Martin and #16 Ted Musgrave - Jack Roush Racing!!

I would like to see the following things in NASCAR2:

1. Tow trucks - have tow trucks come out and get the wrecked vehicles
(including yours)  it's not very realistic to have the cars suddenly
disappear.  also would i would rather get towed in to the pits to end a
race rather than just hitting esc.

2. more decal area in paintshop - let us paint every little square inch
of the car.  if we want to put a logo on top of the trunk, rear bumper or
front fenders let us.

3. computer cars most turn themselves around normally - i'm tired of
seeing the computer cars spin out and get themselves back on track by
doing these batman u-turns.  make them put the car in reverse just like
we have to.  also 1 time in a pile up i was rugh next to a car that did
the batman u-turn, his uturn hit me and knocked out my back tires (i was
not happy)

4. let us suffer from mechanical problems - we've seen the computer
players drop from engine, gear, electircal etc. problems.  let those
things happen to us too.

5. bug fixes - all these problems people have been complaining about.
(i.e. cars passing in pit row.  being told to get behind cars that were a
full legnth behind you when you crossed the line during yellow, those
invisible walls, car mergings, computer cars pitting when pits are
closed, computer players passing thru pit wall, etc)

well thats it.  i don't think i ask for too much. :)

Mr. Genter,

I am wondering what prevents you from just creating a track similar to Indy
or Daytona and calling it something else.  It doesn't seem as though that
would be any sort of infringment as long as you don't mention the name.
After all, it's the name that is licensed, isn't it?

Rick,
I have to also BEG you to add a spotter function, it could even be a
simple window that opens via a toggle a shows some helpful info,
of course a digitized Ned Jarret saying, "Tony, thars a prob in
turn3!" would be cool too. :^)

The 320X400 mode also sounds like a ***y  >good< idea as well.

Geesh, I can't believe I actually begged for a new function to a
computer simulation 8^D

>The cars should be able to flip! I mean at 180mph into the stands! How about when you blow your engine,

oil shoots up on your windshield. And fires if you really get
smashed. Now they need chicks with you when you've got your
trophy after the race. I think that you should be able to detail
your whole car instead of certain places like you can now.

TOW TRUCKS?????? How about trucks that push???? I always end up as the car
that has to push the crushed car from behind!!! My latest incedent was
with Rick Mast. He had some clutch problem and stopped in the middle of
the road!! I waited through nearly 3 gallons of gas, along with 39 other
cars and a pace car for him to move. Finally I drove past all of the cars
and bumped him until he started to move and drive again!! It wasn't bad,
but I bent all my fendors.

I'd like to throw out my 2 cents worth.

1)  On the standings screen, I would like to see the lap number for the last pit
for ALL cars.  Also, would like to see what was done during the pit stop even
though this point is not as important.  I would like to be able to plan my
pit stops according to when others were pitting.  NASCAR teams know this info
    during a race.

2)  I would really like to see double row restarts that follow NASCAR rules.

Keep up the good work Papyrus and hope your listening everyone's suggestions.

And how about the option to "go behind the wall" and come back out and
run for points?
