I forgot to ask (in my previous post) was there a typical field size in '70?
If so, what was it?  What was the range of there was not?

Field sizes varied greatly in the late 60's and early 70's.  As many as 60
cars started some races in the period on the larger tracks and some of the
short tracks would only have 20 or so starters.
