Diamond monster II, Stealth 2000 3D.

Turn off ALL the checked options in the advanced setting panel of the Voodoo 2.
i have a CL Voodoo 2 and had the same problem until unchecking everything. Now
it works great...even at 1024x 768!!

I am trying out the GPL demo on my PII 300, 96MB, CL Voodoo 2, Diamond Viper
AGP. The game seems to be awesome except for the graphics for the track. I
get great framerate even at 1024 X 768 but the track is "scrambled" in about
half of the track. The other scenery looks great. BTW has anyone else
noticed how awesome the graphics in the mirrors are?

The cars sure are hard to control but I'll just have to keep playing to
figure it out :-)!!

Anyway, has anyone else had this problem with the track graphics on Voodoo
2?

*snip*

I think I read, (sorry can't remember where), that GPL had a problem
with the CL Voodoo2 drivers. Perhaps this is the problem the note
referred to?

Is it possible to use Diamonds' drivers?

Just asking...

The readme file indicates that the demo doesn't yet support the
Voodoo2 cards. New drivers are needed that aren't available yet.

I dl'd the 3dfx voodoo2 reference drivers dated 3/14/98 from www.voodoo2.com
and now everything works great (even at 1024 X 768 with all details on)!!!!!

I unchecked the Gouraud shading option ( whatever the heck THAT is!)
in graphics quality group and the prob went away. You have to keep unchecking
it as it "re-checks" itself. Now all I need to do is drive it some. 1:44 after
10 laps of practice isn't gonna make it.
 April 24th -26th
(HSR) Historic Sports Car Racing -Walter Mitty Challenge at
Road Atlanta this year will be even more fun than usual.

I need to get back to work, but we all know what I'm really gonna do;))))))

I have a somewhat similar setup PII-233 (OC to 266), 64MB, CL V2,
Millenium PCI.    I get no problems with the track.  Their is no
"scrambling", I'm using the latest V2 drivers (RC2) with all the
options in GPL "on".  Check your Voodoo2 display tab, make sure
nothing is checked (especially Triple buffer).  You can probably have
a few things checked here, but I find less "graphics anomolies" when I
uncheck everything.

I noticed that right away.  They look amazing.  I didn't use it that
much actually because I couldn't stand driving in the***pit view
with the wheel and the drivers arms showing (I find it too
distracting).  Is there a way of turning those 2 things "off"?

Marc.

These are the drivers provided by 3DFx themselves. Get them from their web
site http://www.3dfx.com
