CART Precision Racing Tracks???

by RedSoxKi » Thu, 17 Jan 2002 10:42:07

Hello, maybe someone out there can help me out...

Here's the deal: I recently picked up a copy of CPR from a second hand
software/DVD/CD/etc. store.  They wanted $12.00 for it so I said what
the heck.

Searching the web later on I discovered that there were some of second
party tracks as well as updated tracks for the game, but every link I
followed was broken.

Does anyone know where I can find some of these?  Any help would be much
appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

He also has links to some others.

Speaking of this sim, does anyone have a complete copy of this sim, or
CART(not ICR2) by Sierra they'd like to get rid off?

Yes, yes it did.  I have run the windows version from time to time.  I
found it MORE stable than the rendition3d version I used to run back in the
good old days.  It does have a few problems tho...like getting a full screen
to drive and then sometimes the graphic's colors reverse.  But I can only
remember one lockup, and that was after running mulitple items before and
during the Cart Windows session.  Folks had spouted off ever since the
original windy.exe was released how unstable it was, but it felt pretty good
to me.

Geez - I had to click on 'refresh' 7 or 8 times before the page came up.  I
still didn't have all the graphics files...weird.

Ok, thanks Dave.  I'm introducing my five year old to the world of sim
racing(after all these years watching dad certain nights of the week every
week I guess he wants a piece of the action<G>), and ICR2 won't recognize
the controller for some reason.  Don't really feel like spending much time
trying to figure it out, so thought I'd try CART instead.

  He's already crazy about Nascar 1 :)

Hi John,
This is a relatively new CPR site CART Precision Racing World
http://www.racesimcentral.net/

This is the best of those that were around .Not sure of its present status
as the site owner is no longer updating. The links to many tracks were at
other peoples sites many of which have dissappeared. The Checkbox for CPR
http://www.racesimcentral.net/

There is some CPR info/downloads here
http://www.racesimcentral.net/***world.com/cpr/index.html

Hope this info helps

I burned all my old CPR add-on stuff to CD. Let me know if you still want
this stuff (tracks, fixes, etc) and where I can upload it to.

I found that if I switch my windows colors to 256, the colors are
always correct. I did this a while back and even used my ACT Labs RS
Shifter in sequential mode. Graphics are dated, but a fun sim.

I've seen the Editor's Choice Collection a few places, both in the
store and on-line, at a reasonable price.  It includes CART, all three
versions (DOS, Rendition, Win).

        Here's one:
