I tried modem racing last night with a friend. He was in control and we
raced with Pace lap off. When we went to Race I hesitated a few seconds
before I went in and the field was already started and had half a lap on
me. Anyone experience the same thing. We tried it several times with the
same results.

Also tried to race using Kali and my game locked up when i launched it.
I'm using a DellXPS166C 32mb ram and a Reactor card. Other than that the
games awesome. Graphics are great.

Strange. In all the time we were testing modem racing, it never occurred to
me to try a race with the pace lap off.  I guess you can blame that one on
me, should've tried it. <sigh>

BTW, modem racing works fine with pace lap on, although occasionally the
client (dialup) car seems to start inside of an AI car.
